stamptastic.

As it turns out, I’ve taken a serious liking to designing address stamps. In the year and a half that I’ve lived in Utah, I’ve already made three different address stamps for myself. THREE. Does a person really need three different address stamps for the same address, you ask? What can I say, I love a good zip code (;

So when some of my closest friends asked me to design some stamps for them, I decided to make a go of it on Etsy. Here are just of few that I recently listed:

Even more can be found here!

Happy Saturday! Best day of the week! Woo!

etsy-ing.

Since I’ve been enjoying little shopping sprees on Etsy lately, I thought I would share some of my recents faves with you all. Here are just a few of the many inspiring shops that I’ve come across:

Snipit Sheets/Awesome Christmas by Little Pretty Studio (aka Jennifer Pebbles, who I have been a longtime fan of!). I can’t wait to put these to use in my December Daily album.

Mini Charcoal Holiday Book by Jamaica Makes. I can honestly say that her packaging is just as good as her product. Amazing.

2012 Life.Love.Paper Calendar by Life Love Paper. I’m hoping one of these will show up under my tree on Christmas morning! (;

Decorative Cutout Blank Journal by Cherie Bee. Cherie is one of my scrappy friends from San Diego and her shop is full of these AWESOME wood books. I was lucky enough to receive a custom book from her and I can’t wait to to use it on a special project!

Red Hearts on White Washi Tape by In The Clear. This shop is FULL of things that make my eyes so happy (and I have a feeling that if you’re reading this blog, they will make yours happy too). This tape is currently rocking my world.

Which shops are catching your eye these days?

shop talk.

New prints in the shop! This time they are of the digital variety.

/// The ultimate song about my home state! Comes in teal, pink, and orange.

/// Words I try to live by (:

/// It’s never too soon to jump on the holiday bandwagon, right? (;

And of course, all of this shop talk is because I have the total privilege of being a vendor at the Provo Bijou Market next month! Eeeee! So ridiculously excited to be a part of a such an inspiring event. Seriously, I was so jazzed about it last year, that I made a video (haha!)!

Thanks for letting me share!

challenges, part two.

Long time no blog!

Currently I am laying on my bed in an immobile state, thanks to the Pump class I took last night at the gym…good lord I’m so sore! Luckily, my fingers are feeling well enough to type out a post, so here are more photos from my 30 Day Photo Challenge (which at the rate I’m going, will take about three months to complete):

Day Six | Childhood Memory: Okay, so technically this is a photo from when I was home in May, but it gets the job done, right? Here I am in my childhood bedroom, which currently looks nothing like it did when I was a child. Long gone are the American Girl dolls and the giant drafting table. Now in it’s place are my college diploma and my parents’ old bed. Regardless of the changes, it always feels like home!

Day Seven | Something New: Twinkle lights for the balcony! Lately I’ve been wanting to make the balcony cozier and more inviting, so I’ve added a rug, a vase of wildflowers, another tall vase full of branches, and of course, twinkle lights (will have to do a post on this). It would be perfect if the temperature would drop about 20 degrees and the bees would take a hike. Yet another reason I can’t wait for Fall!

Day Eight | Technology: My new custom stamps from Simon’s Stamps! I designed one with my return address stamp and other with my new company logo. Oh how I love a good stamp!

Day Nine | Faceless Self-Portrait: Taken during our morning commute (as we were running late, as usual).

Day Ten | Something I Made: I think you all have seen this before (; And I must say…that three dollar chalkboard from the DI has been the best photo staging prop ever!

Day Eleven | Something Fun: I whipped up this quick banner for the balcony using papers from American Crafts’ Garden Cafe line. Hung it up on my lunch break. Sometimes decorating in short bursts is the best way to go!

playing with paper.

Despite the fact that I haven’t had much interest in scrapbooking lately, these Studio Calico kits were just too good to let sit in a box and wait for my mojo to make a comeback! Somehow I managed to eke out a few layouts using the July and August kits, as you can see here:

Midway. Made using the Mind the Gap kit, my new “Right/Wrong” stamp from Border’s clearance (RIP Borders), a ticket, Washi tape, and a binder clip.

California Comes to Utah. More Mind the Gap, Washi tapes, a Smash journaling card, tickets, and journaling post-its also from Border’s clearance sale.

Park City. Mind the Gap, Washi tapes, and another journaling post-it. I also used one of my favorite techniques: incorporating paper strips and packaging into my layouts. Barcodes are fun! Wheeeee!

Strawberry Days. Made with the Boardwalk kit, more packaging and paper strips (LOVE BasicGrey’s floral packaging!), Washi tape, Mr. Huey spray in Bluegrass, a Studio Calico pink map sticker, and folded kraft paper (which was what the kit was packaged in – recycle, reuse, reduce!). Oh, and of course I used my typewriter, which seems to be a little out of alignment, but I think that’s part of the fun!

Weekending with Mom. More of the Boardwalk kit, red and white tissue paper from Anthro, a doily, Washi tapes, stickers from October Afternoon and Studio Calico, white Maya Mist, a Smash journaling card, a vintage flashcard, and a little kraft flower I made using the Cuttlebug.
Plus One. And finally, more of the Boardwalk kit (which by the way, is my favorite kit so far!), Washi tapes, OA stickers, a glassine envelope, Maya Mist in white, a ticket, and…an XO card from my new Etsy shop! I only listed one thing so far, but I have lots of “inventory” to add once I get around to taking photos and listing. So excited to be back in the Etsy game! Also, this was probably the worst way to introduce my new shop since nobody actually “reads” blogs, but it’s past my bedtime and I’m no longer thinking clearly! Hence the run-on sentence! HA!

Things I am Obsessing Over

Isn’t it funny how certain things appeal to you more now, than say, 6 months ago (and vice versa)? I love it! I can always remember different periods of my life, just by recalling what I was immersing myself in at that point. For instance, I can tell you that 1 year ago I was obsessed with watching Rachel Zoe episodes on my iPod as I finished up my final semester of college. I was also totally into making jewelry (a hobby that has since fallen by the wayside) and was loving my last few weeks living in San Diego. Today I am obsessed with…

Martha Stewart punches! Good lord, I have the hardest time deciding which punch to purchase each time I just “happen” to be in the neighborhood of a Michaels and I just “happen” to have a 40% off coupon in hand. I wonder how that happens? Hahah!

Finding amazing shops on Etsy, such as this one by Carole Hannah! Remember Carole Hannah from Project Runway? She made it to Bryant Park, but somehow Irina emerged victorious (Irina…ugh!). Nonetheless, she was totally my favorite and I was so excited to see that she has a shop on Etsy! How cool is that?

The galleries at Studio Calico. Not only are the design team galleries each month enough to make me want to drop everything and start scrapping, but the member galleries are amazing as well!

Sex and The City trailers! Each time one comes on, I have to stop what I’m doing and watch intently! I just re-watched the first movie the other night after everyone went to bed and I have to tell you…it is better than I remembered! So excited for the sequel!

Flickr favorites screenshots! I often will take a screenshot, paste it in Word, and then print out so I can take it with me as I go about my day, glancing at it from time to time for a burst of inspiration!

There’s plenty more that I am in love with, but I will save those for another fun-filled day! :)

Challenge Complete!

When I saw Cherie’s challenge to create a layout inspired by this rug:

I instantly knew I wanted to make this:

The textures and colors in the rug reminded me of my interior design days when I used to drool over the countless wallpaper samples in the ID resource room at school. I would hoard the most beautiful wallpaper samples – not for my design storyboards, mind you - but for my scrapbooks! HA! It was one of many signs that I was much better suited for the graphic design side of the fine arts spectrum than the interior design side. But as a result of testing out the ID waters, I now have a ton of fun wallpaper samples mixed in with my patterned paper stash that were perfect for this challenge! I had so much fun putting it all together and using up my scraps! Thanks Cherie!

 P.S. I relisted a bunch of old favorites in my Etsy shop yesterday. Brand new styles are coming in May!

Vintage Appeal

“Love” tickets I purchased from Vintage Bliss - so gorgeous!

Etsy has been calling my name lately! Especially in the vintage paper ephemera department. Holy moley, I can lose track of time scanning through all the fabulous things that site has to offer! These days I’m on the hunt for vintage tickets, bingo cards, and pins. Here are a few I added to my favorites and have a careful watch on to make sure they don’t suddenly disappear without first landing in my cart! (Run-on sentence much? HAHA!)

Vintage pins from Driving Miss Moppet. I have visions of using these on every layout I make from here on out!

Vintage bingo cards from Pautluck. LOVE these so much, I think I want to frame them!

Bus tickets from Imagine Art 7. What is it about vintage tickets that fills me with sheer joy? Haha!

Vintage Red Paper Lace from Anitarae822. Good lord I love Valentine’s Day!

Vintage Needlepoint/ Crewel Wool from Knitsquirrel. I don’t know if I could ever use these, they are just too beautiful as is!

There are so many amazing sellers in that marketplace, you are sure to find a gem (or several!)! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to do some shopping…
