This past weekend, John and I escaped the heat (stay back, summer!) and ventured down to Newport Beach to hang out with Jamie, Kareem, and Mac the pup. The overcast weather, the beautiful scenery, and the always-hilarious company made for a fantastic day.

Can you believe I had never actually been to Newport before? Gasp, I know! But let me just say, it was well worth the wait. One of the highlights of the day (aside from all the Arrested Development references) was seeing Jamie and Kareem’s GORGEOUS apartment. Call me nosy, but I love to see the way people live in their spaces: how they decorate, how they relax, what they cook, etc. And in the case of J & K….it was an absolute delight. I feel lucky that not only are they family, but they’re great friends as well. Plus Jamie keeps the wine flowing, so no complaints here… (;
